(BULLY) Boy lends his German Shepherd to help fight the war. Written extremely simple, more suited for fourth-graders. If focuses on the boys struggle to cope with his father in the war and to do everything he can while at home. It's not really about the dog at all. At end gives extra history. If I had to choose between this and another dog war book, the other would win "paws" down
