Ok let me just note that I did a huge project on these books by Frances Hodgson Burnett. I highly suggest you read Sara Crewe by same author because here is the real story. She wrote Sara Crewe first, and then A Little Princess. She did this because Sara Crewe was really just about Sara and people wanted to meet the others like Emengard and Lottie. So she wrote A Little Princess so they could. :) Anyway since I know this is a sort of rewrite. I really liked it. I love Lottie best <3.

I really enjoyed this book because Sara Crewe is such a little inspiration. I admire her for many reasons whether it be her good manners or her kind heart. I was quite upset when Sara's father past as I wanted Sara to be happy as she deserves it. This book is unbelievably extraordinary!

I really hate to say this, but, I like the movie (1995) more.

i love the book and movie WOO MAGIC MONKEY

The best children's novel ever on the true meaning of nobility. Wealthy, pampered Sarah Crewe quickly becomes the star pupil in her snobbish Victorian boarding school, but when her father dies suddenly leaving her penniless, her "friends" and the cruel school headmistess show their true colors. Banished to the attic and reduced to near slavery, Sarah's innate courage, kindness and intelligence shine through and enable her ultimate triumph. Whether rich or poor Sara sticks to her principles, choosing her friends based on loyalty and character, rather than social status or appearance, and never failing to protect those still less fortunate than herself. An inspiring story for any age.

the book is not as good as the movie for the simple fact that the movie ends up way happier.
