Summary
Add a SummaryArrietty, a tiny but tenacious 14-year-old, lives with her parents in the recesses of a suburban garden home, unbeknownst to the homeowner and her housekeeper. Like all little people, Arrietty remains hidden from view, except during occasional covert ventures beyond the floorboards to "borrow" scrap supplies like sugar cubes from her human hosts. But when 12-year-old Shou, a human boy who comes to stay in the home, discovers his mysterious housemate one evening, a secret friendship blossoms. If discovered, their relationship could drive Arrietty's family from the home and straight into danger. (From MyAnimeList.net)

The first Ghibli movie I actually enjoyed. Adorable. No objectionable content.
A cute yet sad movie.
Studio Ghibli does it again! The encounters between Arietty, a tiny person living beneath the floorboards of a house, and Shun, a boy staying in the house before his risky heart operation, are beautiful and eerie. They convey the sense of meeting the unknown.
My family throroughly enjoyed this animated film. My 9-year old daughter & 12-year old son loved it!
really good movie except a little action lacking. id give it 4/5
I remember reading The Borrowers by Mary Norton as a kid so I was really excited to see this movie. I thought the movie was a bit slow. I would recommend the book rather than the movie.
Amazing movie, I'm 17 and I thought it was really cute. Definitely a good movie for 'movie night' with little kids. 4/5 stars
I've watched the movie in Japanese and in English at the movie theaters and I have the Japanese DVD but I needed to compare them. I love anything that has to do with little (or giant) people. I've also read 3/5 of the series and need to finish the rest, but so far I am in love with Arrietty. :D
Good – The World of Arrietty (2010) 94 min. [Foreign - Japanese] [Animated] Ghibli Studios’ magic in film is not particularly the plot but the incredible canvas paintings and animation that are beautiful to witness. I enjoyed the re-direction of this story from its American counterparts that use loud noise, fast paced action and humour to entertain. This Japanese film with American’s doing the voices is a quiet film to be enjoyed as though observing a fine painting. There are a couple of funny moments but may be too “slow” for the average viewer.
