It seems hard to believe that this album is almost 40 years old. Pink Floyd was a band that knew how to make solid and timeless music. I would say this album was the one that made them into a progressive rock band. Recommended for all fans of rock music or any of the derivative genres.
"Dark Side" is one of the greatest albums in the history of rock music. And the odd thing is that Pink Floyd followed it up with an album that some feel is even better -- 1975's "Wish You Were Here." In fact, PF guitarist David Gilmour and the late PF keyboardist Rick Wright both declared "Wish You Were Here" as THEIR favorite Pink Floyd album. Personally, I don't think the music on "Dark Side" is quite as good as the music on "Wish You Were Here." Lyrically, though, "Dark Side" is far more universal -- ANYONE can relate to subjects such as greed, war, growing older, or simple ennui. HIGHLY recommended.
This is the 2 disc Experience Edition with a Live concert of the full Dark Side of the Moon album recorded in 1974
One of the best albums of all time!
Dark Side of The Moon is a one of a kind and legendary LP. It literally spent decades in the Billboard Charts, and for good reason. This is an essential and "must hear" LP that can't be given sufficient praise. One of the few rock albums that truly deserves the adjective "perfect".
-this album saved my life (or sanity, when I was really down).
This must be the ultimate album of modern times and a R & R classic. Nothing comes near to Dark Side Of The Moon.
