Woody Allen channels Hitchcock and Albert Camus, fabulous, five stars

I felt like I was being led along to this pitiful dreary room that I didn't want to visit. I was very disappointed in what Woody Allen had created - it was overall creepy. Hated it.

Hey, let's remake Crimes and Misdemeanors with a younger, "hotter" cast, bad writing and acting, and no comedy!

Garbage.

I thought it was a good movie but would not rate it as high as some others. This is a well written movie but the main character is very creepy. It kept my attention but was nothing amazing. High marks for the twist in the ending.

This was one of Woody's best, there was no way you could have predicted the ending of the movie.

I'm a lifelong fan of Woody Allen's. Though I don't see his films from the last 10 years or so upon release, I always catch up with them, like I did 'Match Point'. Not a bad movie, but not his best. I find that his recent movies are more about where they're being filmed and the characters and plot are almost the backdrop for the locale, in this case, London. It's beautifully filmed and the cast is very good but I do miss the subversive, funny Woody Allen. This is his British version of 'Crimes and Misdemeanors' only it's devoid of all humor and in the past he'd have his actors improvise and it would always work, but there are some awkward scenes here where it clearly should've been done again. I noticed that more so in 'Vicki Christina Barcelona' where Penelope Cruz struggled with improvisation. However, she won an Oscar so what do I know?

One of Woody Allen's greatest movies and one of my favorites! I rank it with "Annie Hall", albeit for different reasons.

I read a review saying it was a comedy drama, not sure where the comedy was in this film but it's definitely a dark drama, especially for Woody Allen.

I won't give the plot away but I couldn't figure out where or how it was going to end considering all the complications.

I'm biased to his comedy films that he stars in, this is my favorite film with him directing and plan to add it to my collection.
